About 7:45 in for all those playing along at home. A wonderful Limbo and Mystery Train & Mission are good to close out the Early Show. I really enjoyed when Keith & Donna were in the band along with Maria Muldaur. Just a great line up with Garcia, Kahn and Buzz Buchanan.

I was trying to find some YouTube footage. Typed in (Upper) Darby and (Sitting in) Limbo to see if I could get any type of hit. I came up with this gem...

In terms of Jerry's personal body of work outside the Grateful Dead, it's a freakin shame that Jerry Garcia Band soundboards are being held hostage for silly estate, monetary and control issues that in no way serve the body of music that folks enjoy so much.

To that long winded end; i find the following commercial offerings to be splendid in terms of both musicality & immediacy.

New Riders of the Purple Sage 1971

Jerry Garcia January 1972

Live at The Keystone 1973

Compliments Jerry Garcia June 21st, 1974

Old and In The Way 1975

Reflections January 1976

Warner Theatre March 18th, 1978

Cats Down Under The Stars April 1978

Jerry Garcia Band Live at Shorline DVD September 01, 1990

Not For Kids Only Garcia & Grisman 1993

Shining Star March 2001

PS Jerry's version of Sitting Here in Limbo always got me, more than Jimmy Cliff, and for that matter, many of the great songs written by one Robert Zimmerman;

aka Bob Dylan, Happy 70th!

Screw the Dead! I blastin' me some Hoff!!!

For me, he really peaked in about 95 or so. His 5 night run in Frankfurt is still the stuff of legend. Or was that his night being stuffed with 5 frankfurters?

Well, this is a first. I actually started this thread and I don't know what it's about.

I love the song Catfish John, and I'm going to listen to this version. Jerry tells the story of a character full of nostalgia for his childhood friend and the sweet Delta dawn. Thanks.

Ok, I've heard- and yes, it is lovely. So is Sitting in Limbo. I think when I have the time, I'll be returning to this show again.
